Echoes of Silence, Obsidian, and What Comes Next
The past few months have been some of the most exciting and encouraging of my musical journey.
When I released Echoes of Silence, I hoped the music would find its audience. What I didn't expect was just how warmly it would be received. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, and I'm grateful to see listeners connecting with these quiet, minimalist piano pieces in such meaningful ways.
Even more encouraging, playlist curators have been discovering the album and adding tracks to their collections. Seeing the music reach listeners around the world through playlists and recommendations has been incredibly rewarding.
To everyone who has streamed the album, shared it with a friend, added it to a playlist, attended a performance, or simply spent time listening, thank you. Your support means more than I can adequately express.
The Journey of Echoes of Silence
One of the most unique aspects of this project is that Echoes of Silence was always intended to be a double EP.
The first release featured six compositions performed on grand piano. The companion release presented those same six pieces on felted piano, offering a completely different emotional and sonic experience. The grand piano recordings embrace openness and resonance, while the felted versions draw the listener inward, revealing an intimacy and warmth that transforms the character of each composition.
It's been incredibly rewarding to hear listeners connect with both versions and discover how dramatically tone and touch can reshape the emotional impact of the same music.
Live Performance
I've continued performing locally, and those experiences have reminded me how powerful music can be in intimate settings. After playing community events, open mics, and local gatherings, I've decided to focus more energy on small concerts in community spaces where listeners can experience the music up close.
There's something special about sharing quiet music in a room where everyone is fully present. Those moments of connection are becoming increasingly important to me, and I'm looking forward to announcing more local performances in the months ahead.
Radio, Playlists, and New Audiences
I've also been working with radio stations and music curators to bring the music to new audiences. It's exciting to see the songs finding homes on playlists alongside artists whose work I admire, and I'm hopeful that radio airplay will continue to expand the reach of these recordings.
Every new listener feels like a small victory for independent music.
A Special Release This Summer
Before Obsidian arrives, I'm excited to share that one of my compositions, "Traveling," will be featured on an upcoming compilation album scheduled for release on July 24th.
It's always an honor to have my music included alongside the work of other artists, and I'm looking forward to sharing more details about the compilation as the release date approaches. "Traveling" has always felt like a piece about movement, possibility, and the spaces between destinations, and I'm excited for it to find a new audience through this project.
Looking Ahead: Obsidian
While Echoes of Silence explored stillness, reflection, and the beauty of quiet moments, my next major release travels into very different territory.
I'm excited to begin sharing details about my upcoming album, Obsidian, which is scheduled for release in December of this year.
Obsidian is an intense and deeply personal collection of solo piano works that explores the raw emotions of anger, solitude, and transformation. Where Echoes of Silence often invited listeners into a place of calm and contemplation, Obsidian confronts the storms that often precede peace.
These compositions are dynamic, emotionally charged, and unafraid to venture into darker emotional landscapes. The album journeys through moments of unrest, frustration, and isolation, while also searching for meaning within them. Ultimately, it is a record about resilience; about what remains after struggle has reshaped us.
Like its volcanic namesake, Obsidian is born from pressure and fire. It is dark, powerful, and profoundly transformative.
This music represents a different side of my creative voice, one that has been quietly developing beneath the surface for some time. Over the coming months, I'll be sharing more about the album, its themes, and the music itself as we move toward its December release.
New Music, New Ideas
Beyond Obsidian, I'm continuing to write and explore new musical directions. Some pieces begin as simple sketches, while others arrive unexpectedly and demand to be followed wherever they lead.
That's one of the things I love most about composing: every completed project opens the door to another.
The piano continues to surprise me.
